POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH FELLOWS
A postdoctoral fellowship position is available immediately in the Translational Neuroimaging Laboratory (TNL) based in the Gruss Magnetic Resonance Research Center at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, part of Montefiore Medicine. The TNL is led by Dr. Michael L Lipton and pursues preclinical and clinical research to characterize brain mechanisms that mediate neurobehavioral function in traumatic brain injury, and normal development/aging, and how these relationships are mediated by individual characteristics such as sex and genes.
The successful candidate will work as part of a large interdisciplinary team on a recently funded longitudinal project (R01 NS123445) that will re-evaluate and follow a cohort of healthy individuals who were comprehensively characterized prior to the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequently experienced mild SARS-CoV-2 infection. The candidate will focus on the neuroimaging and data analysis portions of the project.
The position offers an excellent opportunity to work in an established and stable research environment, address questions of great public health relevance, and to innovate approaches to quantitative multimodality neuroimaging and analysis, integrated with a wide array of clinical and laboratory assessments.
Candidates must have a doctoral degree in a relevant scientific discipline; neuroimaging, systems neuroscience, computer science, engineering or physics are preferred. Experience with processing and analysis of MR imaging data and strong computational and programming skills are essential. RESEARCH TECHNICIAN - NEUROIMAGING AND ANALYSIS
The Translational Neuroimaging Laboratory at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, directed by Michael L Lipton, MD PhD FACR, seeks a research technician to join our team. The successful candidate will have diverse responsibilities in the laboratory including MRI data management, quality assessment and reporting, computer-based image processing and analysis and statistical analysis which incorporates diverse non-imaging measures. Additional duties will relate to operations of the laboratory, data collection, and assistance with the preparation of publications and grant applications.
The Research Technician will work closely with the PI, as well as with other faculty, staff and trainees. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain experience with a highly diverse clinical research program and develop skills in multiple areas.
Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) in a science or social science discipline and research experience. A high degree of comfort working with computer-based applications is required. Experience with Linux/Unix or other command-line-based computer operating systems, scientific computing (e.g., Matlab, IDL), programming (e.g., shell scripting, C++), database (e.g., MS Access, SQL) and statistical software (e.g., STATA, SAS, SPSS) is highly desirable. CLINICAL RESEARCH TEAM MEMBER - COVID-19 AND BRAIN INJURY RESEARCH

The successful candidate will have diverse responsibilities in the laboratory including participant recruiting and retention, and participant assessment. data collection and data management, data quality assessment and reporting, and and statistical analysis. Additional duties will relate to operations of the laboratory, data collection, and assistance with the preparation of publications and grant applications.

STUDENT OPPORTUNITIES
The lab offers formal neuroimaging education programs and hosts trainees at a range of levels. The intensive semiannual course, “Introducing MRI”, is now also available in a variety of formats. Student trainees at the undergraduate through PhD levels as well as post-doctoral researchers are typically at work in the lab at any time. This may include summer students, longer term fellows and graduate students completing rotations or their dissertation research. The lab provides a vibrant, interactive and welcoming environment in which students combine deep focus in an area of study with exposure to the broader context of neuroimaging and brain function in health and disease. Do to high demand for trainee positions, it is highly advisable that students make inquiries as early as possible and be aware that not all applicants can be accepted.
