ABOUT US

The Translational Neuroimaging Laboratory (TNL) was founded by Dr. Lipton at Montefiore Medical Center in 2000 as an outgrowth of his ongoing study of patients with mild traumatic brain injury and also to provide advanced image processing and analysis methodology in support of projects in aging, development, stroke and neuro-oncology as well as for the advanced clinical evaluation of patients. The overarching focus of the TNL has always been and remains the use of noninvasive neuroimaging to understand the brain basis of both normal and abnormal human cognition, behavior and function and to identify its underlying mechanisms in order to open the door to new approaches to diagnosis and treatment.
